Tying The Nupital Knot In Sri Lanka |
|
Sri Lanka is fast becoming a Wedding/Honeymoon destination as tying the nuptial knot in traditional style is a truly unforgettable experience. The couple is escorted to an elevated and beautifully decorated wedding platform called a Poruwa in a colorful and spectacular procession with traditional Kandyan dancers and drummers. The ceremony is conducted according to traditional customs of Sri Lanka. During the ceremony a group of young girls clad in the traditional dress sings to invoke blessings on the couple.
Most of the hill & beach resorts organize a gala candle-lit dinner & a decorated suite after the wedding for the newly-weds. When the honeymoon is over, a beautiful wedding album is presented to the couple. |
